What will the project do & how much will it cost?

The church has long been a landmark in Kingston, but for too long it has failed to fulfil its potential both as a visitor attraction and as a centre for community work.

Once the project is complete Kingston will once again have at its heart a historic building attractive to visitors, with aids to help people understand their heritage, and capable of hosting a wide range of events as well as being a flourishing church. In addition we will provide a much needed community building that will house (among other things) a community café, a safe place for young people to meet, and rooms that can be used by counselling and community groups, local schools and societies as well as the general public. Added to this will be a programme of heritage activities based around the church, of interest to visitors, local residents and school groups alike.  All this will be just a stone's throw from the main shopping area

This will all cost money: a brief summary is shown below.

Church Refurbishment £3,236,000
New Community Building  £4,074,000
Landscaping of the Church Grounds  £ 916,000
Heritage activities £ 451,000

Total £8,677,000
